Mick The Skip spent time at the Mick George Training Academy this week.

The Peterborough United first team squad returned to training at the Mick George Training Academy this week and they were joined by Mick the Skip.

The lovable mascot, who can be seen on match days at the ABAX Stadium throughout the campaign, was trying to impress manager Dave Robertson enough to win a trial, but despite showing off his skills, he has yet to be offered a deal.

However, that won't stop Mick the Skip from being a regular presence at the Mick George Training Academy as preparations continue for the start of the Sky Bet League One season.

Mick the Skip will be at the official Peterborough United home kit launch at Serpentine Green, Hampton on Sunday morning. The event runs from 10am until 4pm with the Mick George Cheerleaders, Peter Burrow, manager Dave Robertson and assistant manager Grant McCann and several of the first team squad also present.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George said: “Mick the Skip likes to keep fit and what better way then spending the morning with the first team players in one of their pre-season sessions. He has always fancied a career as a professional footballer and we hope he impressed the management team yesterday.

“The facilities at the Mick George Training Academy are second to none, and we giving four lucky fans the chance to go behind the scenes and have a tour of the academy as well as watch the first team train. To enter the competition just bring along one bin bag of old clothes or textiles and deposit in the Sue Ryder ‘donation station’ located in front of Boots at the Posh kit launch on the 5th July at Serpentine Green.”
