Posh host Colchester United in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday.

Peterborough United entertain Colchester United at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday (3pm) in Sky Bet League One action with Darren Ferguson's men spending several days in Spain preparing for the clash with the U's.

Tony Humes' men knocked Posh out of the FA Cup at the second round stage before being defeated in the third round at Championship side Cardiff City.

Defender Kgosi Ntlhe is expected to return to the squad after injury, while centre defender Shaun Brisley is named in the squad after his loan spell at Scunthorpe United concluded.

Jon Taylor remains a doubt, while Jack Baldwin is a long-term absentee. Colchester are currently in 23rd place in the League One table.

Ferguson said: 'It was a good week away, the players worked extremely hard and the timing of the trip came at a very good time. We were able to have a few meetings out there and everyone is refreshed and ready to go for the second half of the season.

'January is a big month, starting with the fixture with Colchester. We need to make sure we start the game in a positive manner and of course get the three points because we know that we have to start winning games on a consistent basis.'

Colchester defender Kaspars Gorkss is set to put pen to paper on a new short-term deal with the U's ahead of the game. He made his debut in the FA Cup tie between the two sides.
