Peterborough United have secured the loan signing of goalkeeper Scott Loach from Rotherham United.

Darren Ferguson has moved quickly to secure the signing of Rotherham goalkeeper Scott Loach after learning first choice shot-stopper Ben Alnwick will face a spell on the sidelines with injury.

Loach has made over 200 appearances during his career after making his name with Watford, where he made over 150 league starts for the Hornets.

He joined Rotherham in the summer from Ipswich Town and will spend an initial month at the ABAX Stadium.

Loach said: 'I jumped at the opportunity of coming to Peterborough. As a keeper, you need first team football and when I heard of the club's interest, it was a move I was keen to make. I have played against Peterborough a few times in my Watford days and they are a tough opponent.

'I am looking forward to getting started and helping the club during the time that I am with the club,' the 26-year-old said.

Loach will wear the number 13 shirt during his stay with the club.

Reaction from Darren Ferguson to follow.
