Posh head to Ashton Gate to face the league leaders on Tuesday evening.

Peterborough United make the trip to Sky Bet League One leaders Bristol City on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) looking to build on the 2-1 victory over Rochdale at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday.

Posh currently sit in 10th place in the table, just two points from the play-off positions, but have a tough week with away fixtures against the Robins and then Milton Keynes Dons at the weekend.

'It is a big week, but one that we are looking forward to. Bristol City are a good side, they are not top of the league for no reason. They play the 3-5-2 system very well, they are expansive and they have a lot of talent in their squad that we know all about.

'For us, it was important to go into this run of fixtures with a bit of momentum and we should really be talking about four wins from five because we should have beaten Gillingham on Tuesday evening,' Ferguson said.

The Posh boss is sweating on the fitness of Joe Newell and Marcus Maddison. Newell has a groin problem while Maddison has a knee injury.

Jon Taylor and David Norris both came off the bench in the win over Rochdale and Ferguson confirmed both are fit enough to start should they be required.

Bristol City were beaten 3-1 by Sheffield United at the weekend, but boss Steve Cotterill was not too downhearted with that result.

'I think that we got done in the second half, it's funny because we went in 1-0 up at half-time and I don't think we were the better team in the first half. "I thought we were the better team in the second half and ended up getting done on two counter-attacks.'

The game is all-ticket for Posh fans with tickets on sale until 12pm on Tuesday. Tickets can be bought at www.theposhtickets.com, via the Ticketmaster hotline 0844 847 1934 or in person at the ABAX Box Office.
