Posh and BGL enter into partnership.

Peterborough United Football Club are delighted to announce that we have entered into a partnership with the BGL Group to provide support for the club’s Football in the Community programme, the Posh Foundation.

BGL have signed a three-year deal and will work closely on a number of projects that the Posh Foundation undertake which focuses on a number of key areas including Sports Participation, Education, Social Inclusion and Health.


The BGL logo will appear on all Football in the Community coaches’ training kit as well as advertising material sent out to schools and youngsters across the city and the surrounding areas. The Posh Foundation currently delivers in 32 primary schools per week across Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire providing 120 hours of sporting activities per week with an average of 3,000 participants accessing the programme.


BGL will also provide support for the Development Centre programme and the holiday activities, which include the hugely successful Fun Days which saw 1,200 children attend over the last calendar year.

Posh Commercial Manager Alex Harris said: ‘We have been in conversation with the BGL Group and they were very keen to work closely with the Posh Foundation. They recognise the work that they undertake on a daily basis and they understand the participation that creates with youngsters in Peterborough and beyond.


‘This deal will allow the Foundation to grow and ensure that the four key themes identified by the Football League Trust and the Premier League are delivered to the highest standards. The Posh Foundation team are coaching thousands of children seven days a week and we are thrilled that BGL are going to play a major role in supporting the work they do.’

For a huge company like BGL, and one that is situated right at the heart of this community, to be involved in the programme is excellent news and we are looking forward to working closely with them over the next three years.’
