League leaders visit the ABAX Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

Peterborough United host league leaders Gillingham at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday in Sky Bet League One action (3pm) with manager Dave Robertson looking for a response from his players after three defeats in all competitions in a row.

The Gills have made an excellent start to life in League One this term, taking 10 points from a possible 12 and arrive at the top of the division with Bradley Dack a leading contender for the Player of the Month award.

Dack has been instrumental in the club's early season success and netted twice last Saturday in a 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic.

The Gills were beaten in Capital One Cup action in midweek though, losing at Championship side Birmingham City with boss Justin Edinburgh making a number of changes to his starting line-up.

Posh boss Robertson is hoping for positive news on the injury front with Michael Smith and Kgosi Ntlhe in contention for a return to action after back and toe injuries respectively. Jack Baldwin is nearing a return to fitness after almost a year on the sidelines.

Gabriel Zakuani is suspended but Tobi Adebayo-Rowling is now fit after a groin injury. Gills could welcome back skipper Doug Loft from injury and were boosted by the return of influential striker Cody McDonald at St. Andrews. He has a habit of scoring against Posh in recent seasons.

'Justin has done a good job with Gillingham and they have made an excellent start. The injuries have affected us as we’ve lost balance in the back four. When we get that balance back I am sure we will be a match for anyone in this division, but it has been difficult in the early weeks of the campaign.

'We are going into the game in a positive frame of mind, the players are in a good place and we are looking forward to what I am sure will be an entertaining game,' Robertson said.

The first ever competitive meeting between the two sides back in 1960 ended 4-4 although Posh have a slight edge in the history books in terms of victories.
