Former Peterborough United goalkeeper Tony Millington has passed away aged 72.

Peterborough United are saddened to inform supporters that former goalkeeper Tony Millington has passed away aged 72.

Millington spent three seasons with the football club between 1966 and 1970 making a total of 132 appearances in all competitions.

Millington represented Wales eight times whilst with the club and went on to represent Swansea City where he played 178 League games, continuing his international career, ending with 21 caps.

His career ended whilst in the Republic of Ireland playing for Glenavon in 1975 following a car accident that left him paralysed. Until recently has been a disability officer at Wrexham FC, whom he was a regular supporter of.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.

Club historian Peter Lane will pen his own tribute shortly.
