Dave Robertson has confirmed that Jack Collison will manage the under 21s this season, as well as the final pre-season friendly at Bishop's Stortford.
Peterborough United manager Dave Robertson has confirmed to theposh.com that midfielder Jack Collison will be in the dugout for the final pre-season friendly at Bishop's Stortford on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).
Collison will also take charge of the under 21s this season as the former West Ham United midfield man passes on his experience to the younger element of the Posh squad.
Robertson explained: 'Jack will be in charge of the team for the friendly at Bishop's Stortford as part of his own coaching role and his own development while he is doing his coaching badges with the PFA. It will be a good experience for him. Jack will also take our under 21s throughout the season. All of our players who are not playing on a Saturday will get their minutes in those under 21 fixtures.
'It is an opportunity for us to play everybody who needs minutes. We will not be taking the game lightly. Bishop's Stortford are a good squad, I have known their manager for quite a while and they have taken quite a few of our players on loan down the years. We have a good relationship with them and we will look to continue that.
Robertson confirmed that Kyle Vassell will captain the side against his former club. The friendly was arranged as part of Vassell's transfer from Stortford.
Erhun Oztumer is also expected to play 90 minutes, while several other players needing match fitness will be involved.
Admission for the game is £10 for adults, £6 for concessions and £4 for students and under-16s. Accompanied under-12s are admitted free.
