Peterborough United and Cambridge United play out 0-0 draw at the ABAX Stadium.

Honours were shared in the Chris Turner Memorial Match as Peterborough United and Cambridge United finished goal-less at the ABAX Stadium with both sides failing to create too many clear cut opportunities in front of goal.

Cambridge were forced into a change on eight minutes with Luke Berry forced off due to a facial injury. Conor Washington saw an early effort deflected wide of the target as both sides took their time to settle at a muggy ABAX Stadium.

Goalkeeper Ben Alnwick produced a fine stop to push away a volley from Simpson on 17 minutes after Cambridge were afforded time and space to dink the ball into the box.

Conor Washington showed good approach play down the left on 22 minutes to create a shooting opportunity for Gormley, but his toe-poke was blocked and then Bostwick's low drive lacked power.

On the half hour, Posh were close to a breakthrough as Conor Washington rounded goalkeeper Sam Beasant only to see his goalbound shot cleared off the line by Mark Roberts.

Posh were forced into a change on 35 minutes as Michael Smith limped out of the action clutching his lower back - Tobi Adebayo-Rowling was his replacement.

A swerving effort from Jon Taylor drifted just the wrong side of the upright on 42 minutes as Posh tried to end the first half with a bang.

Posh made a change at the break with Gabi Zakuani replaced by Shaun Brisley. Cambridge also made a change with Coulson replaced by Taft.

Cambridge then lost the services of Robbie Simpson who left the pitch on a stretcher after a fairly innocuous challenge with Almeida-Santos.

Alnwick made a routine stop to deny a curling Hughes free-kick on 57 minutes after Almeida-Santos was penalised for a foul.

Gormley was denied a goal in front of the London Road End by a smart Beasant stop, the keeper tipping the fierce drive over the bar.

Arguably the best chance of the game came on 67 minutes as Liam Hughes was afforded time in the box, but he stabbed his effort wide of the target. Slew was next to try his luck, but his long-range effort went well wide.

Jermaine Anderson replaced Collison on 72 minutes while Taylor and Gormley were also withdrawn.
