Jonny Edwards scored twice as the Posh under 18s beat Swindon Town 3-0 at the Mick George Training Academy.

The Peterborough United under 18s recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over Swindon Town at the Mick George Training Academy, based at Nene Park Academy with striker Jonny Edwards bagging a brace.

Edwards took his goal tally to over 20 for the campaign with a well-taken brace while defender Liam Marshall converted a penalty kick as Posh eased to three points.

Both sides ended the game with 10-men, Swindon losing a man for deliberate handball while Posh defender Ollie Luto picked up a second booking for a foul late in the second half.

Kieran Scarff, manager of the under 18s, said: 'We started the game very well and scored inside three minutes, but for the rest of the half, the performance level dropped. We spoke at half-time about that and in the second half we improved and won the game comfortably.

'Over the last six games, apart from the Stevenage game, they have showed some consistency in their performance. Results are not the be-all and end-all, it is about how they perform and they have done well in the last few weeks.

'The players took on board the information we fed them and the challenge now is to maintain those levels of consistency in the next few games.'

Posh travel to Portsmouth on Tuesday before facing Watford on Saturday.

Posh: Ravas, Marshall, Robinson, Maslen-Jones, Luto, Keating, Lee, Hood, Da-Silva-Lopes, Adebayo-Rowling, Edwards.
