Peterborough United entertain Fleetwood Town at London Road on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

Manager Darren Ferguson has received a positive news bulletin with regards to injuries ahead of this afternoon's Sky Bet League One fixture with Fleetwood Town at London Road (3pm).

Defender Christian Burgess and midfielder Jon Taylor have a chance of being fit for the clash with the Cod Army after a scan revealed the pair had suffered just bone bruising.

Left back Kgosi Ntlhe is also in with a shout of returning to the fold after a groin injury, while Michael Bostwick will return to training on Friday ahead of a scheduled return to action for the fixture with Oldham Athletic next Saturday.

Erhun Oztumer and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing are expected to feature in the Final Third Development fixture at AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday (1pm) as they continue their comebacks. Both played 45 minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Watford earlier this week.

Kyle Vassell (broken foot) is the only other absentee from the squad due to injury. The Posh boss is naturally delighted with the bulletin.

'It is good news following the scan on Jon and Christian and I have to say they have a chance for the weekend. I don't want to rush anyone back, but it would be a boost to have them available.

'The scan revealed bone bruising rather than a break and although there is a bit of ligament damage, it is not as bad as we first feared. We are starting to get bodies back and available for selection.

'This weekend's game is a big one for us. The nature of football dictates that after a couple of defeats, the next game takes on extra significance. Fleetwood have enjoyed tremendous success in recent seasons and I know quite a lot of their players,' Ferguson said.

Fleetwood drew 3-3 in their last fixture against league leaders Bristol City and include former Posh striker David Ball in their ranks.
