Darren Ferguson has been named the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month for August.
Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson fought off competition from Bristol City chief Steve Cotterill, Fleetwood Town manager Graham Alexander and Chesterfield boss Paul Cook to win the August Manager of the Month award for Sky Bet League One.
Ferguson was presented with his award at the Nene Park Academy on Thursday and thanked his staff and players for an excellent month of league action.
'I am disappointed that we didn't go through the month unbeaten, but I am pleased to be top of the table and I thank my players and management team for their contribution to this award. It is down to them, but I am pleased to collect it on their behalf,' Ferguson said.
Surprisingly, striker Kyle Vassell was overlooked in the Player of the Month category despite scoring four goals during August.
