Posh have won the Performance of the Week for the victory at Crawley.
The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week the newly sponsored and longstanding LG Performance of the Week Award should go to Peterborough United following their excellent 4-1 away win against Crawley Town in Sky Bet League One on 11 October 2014.
The experienced and highly distinguished panel has managed a combined total of over 6,000 competitive matches in professional football.
Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson will receive a new specially commissioned trophy made by world renowned silversmiths and LMA Partner, Thomas Lyte of London, in a presentation to commemorate the award.
Peterborough won the award after a fine display which took the club up to second place in Sky Bet League One.
Goals from Michael Smith, Marcus Maddison and a Conor Washington brace secured the visitors victory to maintain their fine start to the season.
Speaking after the match, Ferguson was delighted with the result: 'We should have won by more, especially after going behind so poorly early in the game. It was a comfortable victory and you have to take your chances.
'We were very, very dangerous on the counter attack. Our second goal came off Conor's head and the third and fourth goals killed the game off. It could have been more on the counter attack. I had a good feeling for the game and in the second half we were very good. You aim for two points a game on average, and if we win against Barnsley we will be bang on that mark.'
