Posh duo and Peter Burrow visit Hampton Hargate Primary School.

Jack Baldwin, Gabriel Zakuani, Peter Burrow and Marketing Executive Neil Gilby paid a visit to Hampton Hargate Primary school yesterday (Thursday) as part of the Peterborough United School Partnership Scheme.

Over 600 children enjoyed a full school assembly which included a video presentation and a short Q and A with the players.

Neil Gilby said: ‘This has been the second full school assembly we have taken and once again the response from the children was incredible. It is difficult to keep 600 plus kids occupied, but I think we as a club now have it down to a tee and we cannot wait to welcome them to London Road in the very near future.’

The School Partnership Scheme has seen over 40 schools sign up with the club with this number increasing by the week. Each school will receive a pair of tickets to three home matches at London Road to every single child, completely free of charge as the club look to secure the future.

Gilby continued: ‘I cant emphasise enough how important this scheme is to the Football Club, and it’s my job to get over to the children that being a football fan is not about sitting on the sofa watching Sky Sports, it's about going to a stadium, soaking up the atmosphere and watching the action with your own eyes, and lets not forget 90% of these children are home grown, they are Peterborians and this is a massive plus to any football fan. We want to get our children supporting their local teams.’
