Midfielder Joe Hood was among the scorers as the under 18s beat Dagenham and Redbridge.

The Peterborough United under 18s continued their fine start to the league campaign with a 3-1 victory at Dagenham and Redbridge.

Dave Robertson's men put in an impressive display against their opponents and ran out comfortable winners thanks to goals from Harry Anderson, Hood and Tobi Adebayo-Rowling, the latter netting his first goal for the club since his arrival just over two weeks ago.

Robertson said: 'I was pleased. The players were positive in their performance. We changed our shape early on in the week and the players started the game very well. We took the game to Dagenham and the work that we had done to isolate Anderson and Adebayo-Rowling one on one against their full-back came to fruition.

'They both ended up on the score-sheet as a result. It was Tobi's first goal. He has been with us a couple of weeks. He gives us an attacking threat from wide areas and provided good energy. It suits our game.

'It is always nice to get goals from midfield and Joe took his goal very well. Goalscoring midfielders are worth their weight in gold. He made an excellent run, his first shot was saved but he showed good attacking instinct to score the rebound.

'Joe is only a first year scholar, he has been an ever present this season. James Goode from the under 16s also played and did well,' Robertson said.

Posh face Cambridge United at the Nene Park Academy on Saturday (11am) before travelling to Northampton Town next weekend.

Posh: Henry, Marshall, Anderson, Adebayo-Rowling, Robinson, Goode, Luto, Hood, Edwards, Friend, Phillips.
