Peterborough United goalkeeper Ben Alnwick and striker Luke James visited Sawtry Junior School for the latest assembly as part of the club's ticket initiative with local youngsters.

The pair were joined by mascot Peter Burrow at the assembly on Thursday afternoon. The youngsters quizzed the duo with some carefully prepared questions before a chance for autographs and pictures.

Marketing Manager Neil Gilby said: 'On our arrival at the school, we were approached by three teachers who were all season ticket holders at London Road, which mad us feel at home straight away. Ben Alnwick, Luke James and Peter Burrow joined me to speak to over 200 children. These kids were really really enthusiastic and obviously very much fans of the Football Club.

'These schoolchildren have already had their allocation in the schools partnership and everyone who attended the matches had a fantastic time with many saying they have been back since which is great to hear.


'I say it time and time again, but visiting these schools and seeing the joy on the faces of all these children really make my job worth while and leaves me with no doubt that the future of the Football Club is very bright indeed.'

Two more players will be visiting Newborough Primary School next week.
