The football club are delighted to announce that the new stand will be called the Motorpoint Stand.

Peterborough United Football Club are delighted to announce a sponsorship deal with local car supermarket Motorpoint, which will see the new stand behind the goal become the Motorpoint Stand.

The Motorpoint Stand will be open for the first time for Saturday's Sky Bet League One fixture with Swindon Town at London Road on Saturday.

Posh Chief Executive Bob Symns said: 'The football club are thrilled that Motorpoint have come forward to name our new stand. It is a great opportunity for Motorpoint and for the Football Club itself, the synergy is superb.

'Motorpoint will help our supporters and sponsors in their specialist field and they have contributed magnificently to the look of the new stand. They are going to put up a scoreboard in the not too distant future. This has all been agreed and the stand is being suitably dressed inside and outside thank to the support of Motorpoint.

'We look forward to a long partnership with Motorpoint and and are delighted to be working with them.'

General Manager of Motorpoint Peterborough Chris Goodison said: ‘Peterborough United are the biggest sports team in the area and one that a lot of our staff and our customers support so it was a perfect fit for Motorpoint to enter a partnership with the football club and hopefully it will be sustainable for many years to come. The facilities are fantastic and the signage is superb and we are delighted to be working with the football club.’

Motorpoint Peterborough became the fifth location for the UK’s number one car supermarket when it opened for business in May 2007. Situated on an impressive five-acre site situated close to the A1, the Motorpoint site includes large outdoor and indoor showrooms as well as numerous workshops and offices.

Visitors to Motorpoint Peterborough can browse over 4,000 new and nearly new low mileage cars and commercial vehicles. All are available at unbeatable prices, with many up to half the list price of the average UK dealer.

Although the Peterborough site was opened primarily to serve customers in East Anglia (which has the highest level of car ownership in the UK), it has proved to be a popular destination for customers from across the South East of England, with people travelling from as far afield as Kent to take advantage of the savings on offer at Motorpoint.
