League leaders Bristol City eased to a comfortable 3-0 win over Posh at the ABAX Stadium on Friday evening.

Bristol City bounced back from successive defeats to ease to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Peterborough United at the ABAX Stadium as the Posh poor form continued.

Joe Bryan and Joe Newell both had early chances at either end, but neither could keep their efforts down as the game started at a lively pace.

The deadlock was broken on nine minutes as a cross from Mark Little caused panic and as Payne failed to clear, Luke FREEMAN turned sharply and fired into the back of the net.

Maddison fired straight at Fielding with his right-foot after he was fed by Mackail-Smith as Posh tried to respond from the blow of falling behind.

Posh fell two goals behind on the quarter hour mark as WILBRAHAM towered over Burgess and Ntlhe at the back post and powered a header past Alnwick from point blank range.

Maddison sent a free-kick over the bar after he was felled from behind on 18 minutes. Alnwick beat away a shot from Smith at the other end as he made his way into a shooting opportunity.

Marlon Pack clipped the top of the crossbar with a stunning volley on the half hour mark as City continued to threaten in front of goal. Agard headed straight at Alnwick on 39 minutes after a free-kick from Freeman.

Maddison sliced a shot wide after a decent spell of Posh possession as Darren Ferguson's men ended the first half with a bit of pressure.

Christian Burgess headed wide from a Newell corner kick on 53 minutes. Posh made a double change on 57 minutes with Michael Bostwick and Harry Beautyman introduced for Anderson and Payne.

Just after the hour mark, the Robins made it 3-0 as FREEMAN was allowed to cut inside onto his strong left-foot and fire low past Alnwick at his near post.
