Darren Ferguson has been named the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month for April.
Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has been named the Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month for April. Five wins from seven games in a busy month brought 13 goals and a return to their autumn form.Ferguson used the positive experience of his team’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy triumph to inspire a charge that earned a Play-Off place.
Dave Bassett chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel.
He said: “Darren maintained very positive play during the month, especially when it became clear that the last Play-Off place was within their grasp.
“It’s another exciting end to the season for Peterborough United fans.”
Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: “Peterborough’s resounding 4-2 away win at Shrewsbury secured the Posh’s chance to return to the Championship.
“Ferguson will be hoping Britt Assombalonga can add to his fantastic league scoring record in this season’s Play-Offs.”
In the Sky Bet Championship, Sean Dyche of Burnley was named Sky Bet Manager of the Month.
The Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month Award went to Portsmouth manager Andy Awford.
The judging panel is chaired by former Football League manager Dave Bassett with Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins.
