Expectant Peterborough United fans got in the mood for Sunday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final with two days of exciting build-up to the showpiece occasion.

The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Tour captured the imagination of Posh supporters who will be heading down to Wembley for Sunday’s eighth Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final against Chesterfield.

The trophy was taken around various locations in Peterborough, providing fans with the opportunity to have their picture taken with the coveted silverware.

The trophy made an appearance at the Johnstone’s Decorating Centre on the Fengate Industrial Estate near the greyhound track, where Peterborough stars Britt Assombalonga, Kyle Vassell and Jermaine Anderson all joined in the pre-final fun.

A hectic two days also included a major fan engagement event at the Queensgate Shopping Centre, where manager Darren Ferguson was joined by three players – Craig Alcock, Jack Payne and Joe Newell.

A host of shops, businesses and community groups from across Peterborough took part in a special Paint the Town Blue Day to show their support for the club.
