Kyle Vassell scored and was then felled for a second half spot-kick as Posh and Wolves drew 2-2 at London Road.

Peterborough United and Wolverhampton Wanderers played out an entertaining pre-season friendly at London Road with both sides taking positives from a 2-2 draw.

Youngster Jermaine Anderson showed his tremendous promise on three minutes as he breezed past two defenders, including a clever nutmeg, but his effort from range did not trouble goalkeeper Carl Ikeme.

Joe Day made amends for an initial error by denying Dicko on six minutes as Wolverhampton Wanderers were presented with their first effort of the evening. A shot from Sako was comfortably claimed by goalkeeper Day after a nice spell of possession from the visitors.

Posh broke the deadlock on 16 minutes and it was superbly taken from the in-form Kyle VASSELL, who showed great strength to brush off the attentions of Stearman and then drill a shot across Ikeme and into the back of the net.

Goalkeeper Day did well to beat away a fierce drive from James Henry on 20 minutes as McDonald picked out the former Millwall man.

The visitors levelled the scores on 26 minutes and it was simple in it's execution. A cross from James Henry was pinpoint for the well travelled Leon CLARKE who had the simple task of nodding the ball past goalkeeper Day from six-yards.

Clarke headed over moments later from a deep cross from Ricketts as Wolves began to up the tempo. Batth headed wide from a corner kick before Posh made a switch with Kane Ferdinand on for Joe Newell.

Dicko flashed a shot inches past the far post on the stroke of half-time after cutting inside from the left.

On 53 minutes, Posh were back in front and again Kyle Vassell was at the heart of it. His weaving run saw him beat two defenders before he was hacked down in the box allowing experienced midfielder Grant MCCANN to coolly convert from the spot.

Henry fired wide of the far post after a swift counter-attack from the visitors on 58 minutes before Darren Ferguson made nine substitutions.

Jack Baldwin headed wide of the target following Conlon's free-kick on 64 minutes. On 78 minutes, Wolves drew themselves level and the goal was simple in it's execution, the ball rolled across the six-yard box into the path of substitute EDWARDS who had the simple task of slotting home from close-range.

Olejnik made a smart stop to deny Edwards late on as Wolves threatened a third goal.
