Posh Director of Football Barry Fry has revealed there is plenty of interest in those players currently on the transfer list.
Peterborough United Director of Football Barry Fry has today (Friday) spoken to theposh.com about the players currently on the transfer list at London Road and confirmed that there is plenty of interest in some of those individuals surplus to requirements.
Goalkeepers Bobby Olejnik and Joe Day, defenders Shaun Brisley and Michael Richens, midfielder Kane Ferdinand and strikers Nicky Ajose and Tyrone Barnett are all available for transfer.
Fry said: 'I have had a lot of interest in quite a number of the players on the list at present. We thought that Tyrone Barnett might be heading to Birmingham City, but the owners didn't rubber-stamp the deal. However, there are a couple of Championship clubs very keen, but as yet no deal has been reached.
'We turned down a bid from a League Two club for Kane Ferdinand last week. Four clubs have enquired about the services of Nicky Ajose, but we haven't had any firm bids yet, which is surprising because he did ever so well last season.
'A few clubs have contacted us about Shaun Brisley and we will wait and see what happens with that one, while six clubs have contacted me about Michael Richens, but he rejected them all because he wants to continue in full-time football.
'Bobby Olejnik won the Player of the Year award last season and has played over 100 games for us including 88 in the league, so we would expect a lot of interest in him. Joe Day hasn't had too much first team football, but has shown that he is a good goalkeeper so we will wait and see what happens.
'We have managed to pretty much conclude our business in terms of bringing players in, but we need to get a few out of the building and it is down to me to try and make that happen,' Fry said.
