Posh have completed the signing of Bristol Rovers right-back Michael Smith for an undisclosed fee.
Peterborough United are delighted to announce the signing of Bristol Rovers right-back Michael Smith for an undisclosed fee, with the 25-year-old penning a three-year contract at London Road.
Smith has passed a medical after the two club's agreed a fee. The highly-rated defender won the club's Player of the Year award last term and was named in the League Two Team of the Year after an excellent campaign with the Pirates.
Smith was relieved to get everything sorted and cannot wait to get his career at London Road underway.
'It feels like it has been going on for ages, so I am really pleased that everything is now sorted and I am a Peterborough United player.
'Everybody knows what a good club Peterborough is and the club's ambition of getting back into the Championship. After a difficult season last year, it would be great to be involved in a promotion push and I can't wait to get started,' Smith said.
A full interview with Smith is available on the club's YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/theposhofficial
Smith will wear the number two shirt at the club and is expected to feature in the pre-season friendly with Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. You can buy tickets for that game at www.theposhtickets.com
