The Posh under 18s ended their short tour with a 2-1 victory over Exeter City under 18s on Wednesday morning.

The Peterborough United under 18s recorded an impressive 2-1 victory over a strong Exeter City side on Wednesday morning with skipper Liam Marshall bagging a brace as the youngsters came from behind to beat their hosts.

Dave Robertson's men played some excellent stuff in the first period, but couldn't find the breakthrough with Jonathan Edwards seeing the best effort saved by the Grecians goalkeeper.

The home side opened the scoring in the second half with a clinical finish from just inside the box and goalkeeper Dion Henry then produced two fine stops, one from point blank range during an impressive display by the custodian.

However, at the other end, Posh were causing problems of their own with Tye Phillips, Robert Duggan and Harry Anderson all having decent opportunities.

The scores were level midway through the second half when a deep corner kick caused problems and a needless push on James Ward resulted in a penalty kick. Liam Marshall stepped up and coolly converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

On 88 minutes, Posh found a winner as a corner kick was only half cleared to Marshall who adjusted his body well to power a header into the bottom corner of the net.

Posh squad: Henry, Marshall, Goode, Luto, Ward, Duggan, Maslen-Jones, Adebayo-Rowling, Friend, H.Anderson, Edwards, Robinson, Phillips, Hood, Humphrey, Conte, Ravas.
