Manager Darren Ferguson was pleased with his team's effort on a sweltering day in Barnet.
Peterborough United recorded a 1-0 win in the first pre-season friendly of the campaign and manager Darren Ferguson was pleased with his squad's workout at the Hive against a determined Barnet side.
A goal from Kgosi Ntlhe earned Posh a 1-0 win with Ferguson utilising his full squad with two different XIs in each 45 minutes.
'In the first pre-season game, you want to come away with no injuries and you want the players to take on board what we have been doing in training and I was pleased with the workout.
'There are a few things to work on, but that is going to be the case in the first game. There were some pleasing performances, I thought the new lads did well. Erhun Oztumer wanted to get on the ball and looked lively, he tired towards the end of the 45 minutes, but you are going to expect that given where he has come from.
'Jon Taylor is quick and direct and he is going to be a good signing for us. We created some good chances in the second period and it is always pleasing to keep a clean sheet,' Ferguson said.
The Posh boss fielded trialist Adam Drury at right-back in the second period and he confirmed the defender would be travelling to Portugal.
'Adam has been with us for a couple of weeks and we will take a closer look at him in Portugal,' Ferguson said.
