Football fans were today given a New Year treat with the launch of the latest Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Ultimate Finish competition.

Five net-busting strikes from the four Area Semi-Final matches have been shortlisted as the battle to find the best goal of the round begins.

Peterborough United are well represented with their trio of goal-scorers in the 3-0 victory over Newport County – Kgosi Ntlhe, Grant McCann and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing – all nominated.

Oldham Athletic’s Danny Philliskirk and Conor McLaughlin of Fleetwood Town complete the quintet, with supporters having the final decision on which player comes out on top by viewing the exclusive Johnstone’s Paint Trophy video and voting for the best goal.

The successful player will receive a trophy as reward for their goal-scoring brilliance, while fans who voted for the winning strike will be entered into a special prize draw for the chance to win an iPod Shuffle.
