Conor Washington scored twice as a Posh development side beat St. Neots on Tuesday evening.

New signing Conor Washington marked his Peterborough United debut with a brace as the Development side beat St. Neots 3-1 on Tuesday evening.

Washington played 68 minutes of the friendly fixture and looked lively throughout. It was another first team squad member Kgosi Ntlhe who opened the scoring, the left-footed effort from 20-yards sneaking underneath the goalkeeper.

Former Newport County man Washington then took centre stage, rifling home from an acute angle to make it 2-0 before closing down the goalkeeper and finding the back of an empty net moments later to make it 3-0.

Washington was denied a hat-trick by a fine save in the second period while Tom Conlon twice went close from distance.

Posh goalkeeper Charlie Horton made two impressive first half saves, but was beaten in the second half as the hosts grabbed a consolation.
