On-loan striker Craig Mackail-Smith is set to be recalled by parent club Brighton and Hove Albion before Boxing Day.

Mackail-Smith has spent just under a month with Peterborough United during a short-term agreement with the Championship club, but the Seagulls have exercised their right to recall the front man ahead of the conclusion of his deal.

Brighton parted company with Sami Hyypia as their manager this week and caretaker boss Nathan Jones has opted to bring the front man back to the AMEX Stadium ahead of the festive fixtures.

Mackail-Smith was due to return following the Sky Bet League One game with Doncaster Rovers.

The football club would like to thank Craig for his efforts during his short stay.
