Goalkeeper Joe Day has agreed a permanent move to Newport County for an undisclosed fee.

Peterborough United goalkeeper Joe Day has made his move to Sky Bet League Two side Newport County permanent, penning a two-and-a-half year contract for a club record undisclosed fee at Rodney Parade.

Day spent a successful loan spell with Justin Edinburgh's men and returned briefly to the ABAX Stadium after his loan agreement came to an end.

The paperwork will be lodged with the relevant authorities when the transfer window re-opens at the beginning of January.

We would like to thank Joe for his efforts on behalf of the football club and wish him well for the future.
