An Ipswich Town development team including Paul Taylor recorded a 5-2 victory over Peterborough United at the Nene Park Academy on Monday afternoon.The Tractor Boys were lively on the break throughout and raced into a 3-0 lead before the break before two goals from Joe Newell in the second half threatened a comeback.
Newell curled home from the edge of the box and then fired home a left-foot volley in a second half full of chances with striker Kyle Vassell going close on numerous occasions.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing was twice denied by the goalkeeper while Nathaniel Knight-Percival headed a corner kick over the bar as Posh pushed for more goals.
