Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed that should the crowd be over 8,000 on Saturday, he will lower the prices for JPT tie.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed that should the attendance be over 8,000 on Saturday for the Sky Bet League One fixture with Shrewsbury Town, he will lower the prices for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy quarter-final tie with Dagenham and Redbridge.

A crowd of over 5,000 attended the second round victory over Brentford earlier this month and MacAnthony is confident that the Posh fans will turn out in force on Saturday with Darren Ferguson's men sitting second in the League One table.

'I understand the financial climate for supporters out there, so when it comes to the cup competitions, we as a club try to do the best we can price-wise to help fans financially and enable them to attend.

'I really feel given our start to the season that the people of Peterborough will have no trouble hitting the 8k mark this Saturday. It is a Category 'B' game as well, which makes it cheaper than usual games,' MacAnthony said.

Posh have won nine out of the 11 league games played so far this season and have won the last four fixtures in all competitions. In fact, Posh have only lost once in the last seven games and that defeat came at Premier League side Sunderland in the Capital One Cup.

Tickets are on sale for Saturday's game against Graham Turner's Shrewsbury at www.theposhtickets.com, via the 24-hour hotline 0844 847 1934 and in person at the London Road Box Office.
