Posh host Shrewsbury Town at London Road in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

Peterborough United host Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One on Saturday (3pm) with Darren Ferguson's men looking to continue their excellent recent form.

Posh currently sit second in the league table behind table toppers Leyton Orient and go into the clash with the Shrews on the back of a 1-0 victory at Port Vale with Tyrone Barnett scoring the only goal of the game four minutes from time.

Manager Darren Ferguson has conceded that he is not completely satisfied with his side's performances in recent weeks and insists his players have worked hard on the training field this week to improve.

'We are picking up the results we are looking for, but I am looking for improvement in terms of the displays. We have had to grind out a few results and at Port Vale last week, we certainly were nowhere near good enough in possession and the players know that.

'We have worked hard on that area of our game in training this week. We know we have to do better and we know that we can improve and that is what we are striving to do,' Ferguson said.

In terms of team selection, the Posh boss welcomes back defender Kgosi Ntlhe to the squad after the full-back missed the win at Port Vale due to international duty with South Africa. Ntlhe came on in the 67th minute during the 1-1 draw with Morocco.

Lee Tomlin is sidelined with injury, but the Posh boss has revealed that he has a 'slim chance' of returning to the squad for Tuesday evening's game with Sheffield United at London Road (7.30pm).

'Lee has trained well and he is ahead of schedule, but we certainly won't be taking any risks with him. We don't need to. However, he has a slim chance of making the bench on Tuesday night, which is obviously great news,' Ferguson said.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed this week that if over 8.000 supporters are in attendance on Saturday, he will lower the price for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Dagenham and Redbridge to just £4.

Tickets for the game with Shrewsbury can be purchased in advance at www.theposhtickets.com, via the 24-hour hotline 0844 847 1934 or in person at the Box Office. It is a Category 'B' fixture and is cheaper in advance.
