Posh host Sheffield United at London Road on Tuesday evening with the action getting underway at 7.30pm.

Peterborough United entertain Sheffield United at London Road in Sky Bet League One action on Tuesday evening with the clash against the Blades getting underway at 7.30pm.

Darren Ferguson's men go into the fixture on the back of six successive league wins and four consecutive clean sheets and are just one point behind Leyton Orient.

Sheffield United are currently struggling near the foot of the table, but did claim a morale-boosting success over Port Vale at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The Blades are currently managerless following the departure of David Weir with Chris Morgan in temporary charge while a successor is found. Nigel Clough remains the bookies favourite for the position.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson has warned supporters that League One is a tough division and believes his side deserve more credit for the start they have made to the season.

'You have no divine right to beat anyone in this division. You cannot just turn up and win football matches, you have to work hard and I believe we have made an excellent start to the season.

'We have won 10 out of 12 of our league fixtures and are just one point behind the leaders. I do believe we deserve a bit more credit for our results.

'Sheffield United will be another difficult opponent for us. They have some good players and had a good win at the weekend,' Ferguson said.

The Posh boss is sweating on the fitness of full-back Mark Little who suffered a hip injury in the win over Shrewsbury Town. He will have a late fitness test to determine whether he will be fit for the clash with the Blades.

Lee Tomlin could make an appearance on the substitute's bench after making good progress in his comeback from injury. Grant McCann is expected to miss the game with a slight groin injury.

Winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who scored the winner against the Shrews at the weekend, is pushing for a starting berth against the side where he spent a short period last season.
