The Peterborough United Development side, which included Shaun Brisley and Nathaniel Knight-Percival, were 2-0 winners over Stevenage at the Nene Park Academy on Tuesday afternoon.
Posh were always in control against their opponents and created a host of chances before taking the lead through a trialist front man, who finished well after good work from strike partner Jaanai Gordon.
Gordon saw an effort cleared off the line and Joe Newell saw a shot drift just wide of the far post in the first period.
After the break, Posh extended the advantage when the trialist saw his effort saved only for midfielder Kane Ferdinand to tap home the rebound.
Stevenage included Posh youngster Luke O'Reilly between the sticks and he produced a string of fine saves, keeping out Newell and substitute Shaq McDonald while the woodwork was also struck by the striker.
Posh: Day, Brisley, Knight-Percival, Richens, Marshall, Newell, Conlon (sub Anderson), Ferdinand, Brown, Gordon, Trialist (sub McDonald).
