Lee Tomlin played 70 minutes for the development team in the 1-1 draw with Dagenham and Redbridge.

Lee Tomlin completed 70 minutes for the Peterborough United Development Team in a 1-1 draw with Dagenham and Redbridge at the Nene Park Academy on Tuesday afternoon.

Tomlin looked lively throughout, forcing the Daggers goalkeeper into several saves including from a 40-yard lob before he was withdrawn with Saturday's Sky Bet League One fixture against Stevenage in mind.

Posh opened the scoring through Kyle Vassell, who netted his first goal since his move from Bishop Stortford in fine style, curling home a left-footed effort from 20-yards.

Dagenham responded well and forced Joe Day into a handful of saves and drew level from close-range after Day had excellently denied the front man.

Shaun Jeffers saw a looping header go over the bar while Joe Burgess went close with a header from a free-kick.

Posh: Day, Richens, Burgess, Grant, Marshall, Conlon (sub Duggan), Coulson, Tomlin (sub Carthey), Jeffers, Vassell, Anderson.
