Peterborough United have become the latest club to put their skills to the test in the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge.

Darren Ferguson’s side took on the unique test of accuracy, which sees ten players attempt to chip the ball from the angle of the penalty area into a giant inflatable paint pot on the six-yard line.

Squad members were joined by avid Peterborough supporter Will Clifton, a 22-year-old banking advisor, who was the winner of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy’s 11th man competition giving one lucky supporter a unique chance to join their footballing heroes for the challenge.

Ten points are awarded for a successful chip-in, with one accumulated each time the paint pot is struck.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Shaun Jeffers and Lee Tomlin were the three players who successfully hit the paint pot, while Will became the first 11th man competition winner to achieve the feat.

That gave Peterborough a total of four points, not enough to usurp Newport County at the top of the leaderboard.

An ecstatic Will said: 'It was a great experience to join the Peterborough players for the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge.

'To hit the paint pot really made my day and I’m delighted to be the first fan to do that this season.'

Ben Wilde, brand and sponsorship manager for Johnstone’s Paint, said: 'Congratulations to William on becoming the first 11th man to score for their team this season. It wasn’t quite enough to help Peterborough to the top of the Johnstone’s Paint Pot Challenge leaderboard, but we thank the club for their participation and wish them well for the rest of the season.'
