Darren Ferguson keen to improve home form after given opening day fixture at London Road.
Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson believes the club's home form will be vital this season and admitted a home fixture on the opening day of the campaign was what he was looking for.
Posh host Swindon Town on Saturday 3rd August and the club also end the campaign in front of their own fans with Port Vale visiting on Saturday 3rd May.
Ferguson, speaking exclusively to theposh.com, said: 'I am pleased that we have the opportunity to start the season in front of our own supporters. Last season we were away on the opening day and the final day of the season so it is the opposite this time around.
'I have looked at the fixtures and I believe the first five games are good ones for us. Our first away game is at Notts County, which I know is a favourite ground for Posh fans to visit. It is vital that we start this season well, we need to hit the ground running.
'Our home form will be vital, it wasn't good enough last season, we know that, and we need to put that right. The players are back next week and we are looking forward to it,' Ferguson said.
