The Posh under 18s are unbeaten in five after beating Huddersfield Town 3-2 in latest pre-season friendly.
Peterborough United under 18s remain unbeaten in their pre-season fixtures after beating Huddersfield Town Academy 3-2 at Oakham.
Gavin Strachan's men were dominant throughout, but conceded two goals in the final moments to give the score-line an unrealistic look.
‘We were 3-0 up and it could have been a lot more,’ explained Strachan. ‘We had a lot of chances, a lot of crosses and always looked a threat going forward. We were extremely dominant.
‘We conceded two goals in the last five minutes from set pieces, where we needn’t have given away set pieces. We let them into a game where they shouldn’t have been, it should have easily been five, six, seven nil.’
Posh’s three goals came from Tom Conlon, Jaanai Gordon and Levi Wright, with Conlon’s goal again the pick of the bunch.
‘Conlon goal’s was the best one. It says a lot about the boys’ ability that we weren’t surprised when it flew into the top corner. He was arguably the stand out performer.
'Janaai and Charlie Coulson's attitude was really good coming back from the first team squad to get their game time. But there were a lot of good performances. The group as a whole are progressing very nicely.’
A number of the youth team could feature when a Posh XI play Bedford on Saturday (3pm).
