Ty Phillips grabbed an equaliser in the second half to earn Posh under 18s a draw.
Substitute Ty Phillips scored a second half equaliser as the Posh under 18s earned a 1-1 draw with UCD on Wednesday afternoon.
On a tricky surface, Gavin Strachan's men played some good football and had chances to claim victory with Levi Wright among the players to go close to scoring.
It was the home side who opened the scoring from the penalty spot after the referee spotted an infringement, but Posh bounced back from that early setback.
Irishman Robert Duggan, a recent signing, was pulling the strings in midfield and created a half chance for Jonathan Edwards, but his shot was saved.
After a host of changes, Posh levelled the scores when Phillips used great power and strength to burst into the box and coolly slotted the ball past the advancing goalkeeper with his left-foot.
Posh fielded several trialists in the second period, one of them between the sticks and he displayed good handling throughout.
Boss Strachan, speaking to PUTV afterwards, was pleased with a lot of the performances from his young team. 'We are very early into pre-season, but I was pleased because you could see they were trying to show what we have been doing in training.
'We got stronger as the game went on and it was a good run-out. The lads have been training hard and they showed good fitness levels,' Strachan said.
Posh starting line-up: O'Reilly, Burgess, LongaLonga, Burgess, Marshall, Carter, Duggan, Ward, Conlon, Wright, Carthey, Edwards.
