Teenage left-back Kgosi Ntlhe is determined to fight for the left-back slot this season.
Peterborough United recorded a 1-0 victory over Championship new-boys Queens Park Rangers at the weekend and teenage defender Kgosi Ntlhe believes he and his team-mates should be pleased with their efforts against Harry Redknapp's men.
A goal from Emile Sinclair in the final 10 minutes earned the home success and Ntlhe played the full 90 minutes. He is not expected to be involved in Wednesday's trip to Mansfield Town, but insisted he is determined to fight for the left-back slot this season.
'It was a blow out there against QPR. The heat was really intense, but it was a good workout and I enjoyed the battle against Shaun Wright-Phillips. They had some excellent players out there, so it was a good test for me.
'There are a lot of good players at the club, particularly at left-back. Tommy Rowe and Nathaniel Knight-Percival are both very good players in that position, so I know I am going to have to really work hard to get into the starting XI, but I am determined to give it a good go,' Ntlhe said.
Posh boss Darren Ferguson was pleased with the contribution of the South African. 'Kgosi did really well. He played the full 90 minutes and looked solid in there. I have good options in that position.'
