Former chairman John Devaney has died at the age of 77.
Peterborough United Football Club are saddened to announce that former chairman John Devaney has passed away at the age of 77 following illness.
Devaney, who took over as owner of in July 1988, was at the helm as Posh enjoyed back to back promotions in the early 1990s. He lost his battle with motor neuron disease on Saturday.
A club spokesman said: ‘It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our former chairman. Our condolences go to his family and friends at this difficult time.’
The funeral will take place on 28th January 2013.
