Posh youngster Charlie Coulson has been named on standby for the England under 17 squad for forthcoming tournament.

Peterborough United youngster Charlie Coulson has been named on standby for the England under 17 squad following impressive displays against Aston Villa and Leicester City in the FA Youth Cup.

The midfielder, who has just turned 17, has been notified of the news with the tournament taking place in the Algarve at the beginning of February. The full squad was named by England earlier this month on the FA website.

Coulson, who made his first team debut for Posh against Watford last term in the npower Championship, has been within the youth set-up at London Road since he was 12 and attended the Nene Park Academy programme.

He scored in both FA Youth cup games against Aston Villa and Leicester City.
