Posh host Birmingham City in the npower Championship at London Road on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
Peterborough United entertain Birmingham City at London Road on Saturday afternoon (3pm) looking to make it three wins in the npower Championship in a row following successes against Leicester City and Millwall this week.
The Blues were held to a goalless draw by Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night, but have lost just once in the last five fixtures to move clearer of the drop zone in a congested Championship table.
Manager Darren Ferguson, who was delighted with the 5-1 away win at the New Den on Tuesday evening, believes the match with Birmingham is vital.
'We have to back the wins against Leicester and Millwall up against Birmingham. We don't want to lose momentum. It is a home game, the lads are in a confident mood and we are looking forward to the game.
'I think Millwall and Birmingham are quite similar. We felt that James Henry would be the dangerman for Millwall and I think Chris Burke is a real creative threat in the Birmingham ranks. Zigic and Marlon King are a physical threat going forward and maybe Tuesday's game was ideal preparation for this game.
'However, Lee Clark has got a decent squad there and could mix things up. I think he has done a very good job at St Andrews under difficult circumstances. I have the utmost respect for him for the job he has done both there and at Huddersfield.
'We have had some good battles down the year, most notably the play-off final win at Old Trafford. Lee is a good lad and plays the right way,' Ferguson said.
The Posh boss can call on the services of Craig Alcock who came through a reserve fixture with Stevenage this week unscathed. Kgosi Nthle will play for the reserves next week and will be available for the clash at Blackburn Rovers.
Tyrone Barnett is two weeks away from full fitness, but Davide Petrucci is fit again after a slight hamstring injury. Peter Grant is a long term absentee.
At half-time on Saturday, one Posh fan and one Birmingham supporter will compete in a Zorb race - for more details find the Official Peterborough United page on Facebook.
