Posh host Tranmere Rovers in the second round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon at London Road (3pm).
Peterborough United entertain Sky Bet League One rivals Tranmere Rovers at London Road on Saturday afternoon (3pm) in the second round of the FA Cup, with Budweiser.
Darren Ferguson's men reached round two of the competition following a home success over Exeter City while Tranmere narrowly overcame Accrington Stanley with a single goal victory.
The Posh boss has a number of selection issues ahead of the game with Kyle Vassell and Kane Ferdinand cup-tied. Tommy Rowe, Danny Kearns, Gabriel Zakuani, Craig Alcock and Joe Newell are sidelined due to injury.
Striker Britt Assombalonga returns after suspension and Ferguson confirmed in the pre-match press conference that the front man will go straight into the starting line-up.
'Britt will play. It is just a matter of who starts up front with him. It could be Tyrone Barnett, Shaun Jeffers or even Lee Tomlin, but I have yet to make my mind up on that as it stands. We have quite a long injury list, but it is a game that we are looking forward to.
'We have two big cup games over the next week and they are important, both for momentum and financially, but we know they will be tough tests. Tranmere are in good form and have brought in a lot of players since we visited Prenton Park earlier in the campaign.
'They have been re-energised, they have a number of loan players who are eligible so they will come here looking to attack and I am sure it will be a hugely competitive cup tie,' Ferguson said.
Tickets for the game are on sale at www.theposhtickets.com, via the 24-hour hotline 0844 847 1934 and in person at the London Road Box Office, which is open until 7pm on Thursday.
