Posh host league leaders Brentford at London Road on Wednesday afternoon (3pm).
Darren Ferguson's men have suffered a disappointing Christmas results-wise, but have the chance to kick-off 2014 in style when they entertain league leaders Brentford at London Road on New Years Day.
The in-form Bees moved to the top of the table following an emphatic home win over Milton Keynes Dons at Griffin Park. The upturn surge in form from Mark Warburton's men was kick-started with the 3-2 win over Posh when a late Clayton Donaldson goal rounded off an impressive comeback.
Posh go into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat at Carlisle United and will be without the suspended duo Hogan Ephraim and Lee Tomlin, the latter collected his fifth booking of the campaign in the final minute at Brunton Park.
Ferguson said: 'We will have to make changes with Lee and Hogan suspended and I will have to look closely at other individuals ahead of this game. Brentford are a very good side, we know that, they are top of the league for a reason.
'I felt we didn't really deserve to lose at their place and we have generally done well against the top sides in the division at London Road,' Ferguson said.
Posh will be wearing special charity shirts for the game with the Bees in support of the Sue Ryder Hospice. You can bid for a shirt to help raise money for the charity by emailing bid@theposh.com.
The match day programme will be available from the Posh Club Shop and around the ground for £3, with £1 from every programme sale going to Sue Ryder.
Tickets are on sale for the game at www.theposhtickets.com, via the 24-hour hotline 0844 847 1934 and in person at the London Road Box Office.
