Highly-rated striker Jaanai Gordon scored the winner for the under 18s against Wolves in the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday evening.
it has been a superb few weeks for highly-rated teenage striker Jaanai Gordon and it was capped with the winning goal for the Peterborough United under 18s in the second round FA Youth Cup victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Gordon finished superbly three minutes after the re-start to secure a third round tie at Hull City later this month. He has recently returned from three weeks at West Ham United, where he trained under the watchful eye of the coaches at Upton Park.
He scored five goals during his three weeks with the Hammers, finding the back of the net in the youth team, development team and in a first team friendly. He has attracted the attention of a number of clubs in recent weeks and youth team manager Gavin Strachan was pleased with his display.
'Jaanai was a real handful. When you have someone like Jaanai in your side, you know that you have a real chance because he caused them plenty of problems and took his goal very well.
'I thought he took his goal really well and he and Regan were a good partnership up top and I am delighted that we are through to the third round because the lads put in an excellent performance,' Strachan said.
Details of the third round tie against Hull City will be confirmed in the next few days.
