Posh head to Sixfields on Boxing Day to face Coventry City in Sky Bet League One action (12pm).
Peterborough United will look for some festive cheer when Darren Ferguson's men visit Sixfields, the home of Northampton Town, to face Coventry City in Sky Bet League One action on Boxing Day (12pm).
After a deserved home success over promotion contenders Bradford City at London Road in the final fixture before Christmas, Posh will look to strengthen their own promotion credentials with a win against the free-scoring Sky Blues.
Whenever Coventry are in action, particularly at their temporary home, goals tend to follow, but it is not just at the right end that the net has been bulging, they have found it hard to keep it tight at the other end of the field too.
In Callum Wilson and Leon Clarke they have a potent strike force and with former Barnsley front man Chris Dagnall also in their ranks, it is easy to see why they have posed a massive threat in attack.
Posh boss Darren Ferguson is well aware of that threat and believes Stephen Pressley should take huge credit for the way the club have battled against the 10-point deduction they suffered at the start of the season following their financial woes.
'Coventry are a strong side and have scored a lot of goals. They have a lot of good players and they have beaten a lot of teams in this division this year. The manager has to take a lot of the credit because he has got them playing exciting football.
'We go into the game on a good run and I know we will have an excellent following of supporters and hopefully we can reward them for their efforts,' Ferguson said.
Posh had sold 1,700 tickets in advance of the game and fans are able to pay on the turnstiles at Sixfields.
Posh fans are also advised that traffic wardens will be in operation on the day so supporters are urged to pay and display in designated car parks.
Finally, the club would like to remind fans the game kicks off at 12pm.
