Peterborough United will face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Peterborough United will face Premier League side Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the third round of the Capital One Cup.

Darren Ferguson's men, who brushed aside Reading 6-0 in the second round, will make the long trip north to face Paulo Di Canio's side, who needed extra time to defeat MK Dons.

'It is a Premier League team and I fully believe if we play to our full potential and how we performed against Reading then we have a good chance, but it is a long way off and we are concentrating on the next game, which is Crawley on Saturday.

'Sunderland are a good side though, they are at home and will want to progress. It is what it is, we look forward to the opportunity of going to the Stadium of Light,' Ferguson said.
