Jaanai Gordon scored a hat-trick as the Posh development side beat the Strachan Foundation 4-0.
The Peterborough United Development team beat the Strachan Foundation 4-0 at the Nene Park Academy on Wednesday afternoon.
A hat-trick from teenager Jaanai Gordon and a 20-yard free-kick from Danny Swanson earned Posh a comfortable success and in truth the score-line could have been far greater but for some wasteful finishing.
Gordon opened the scoring with a close-range header after a good centre from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and doubled the advantage after the break with a well-taken finish after more good work from Mendez-Laing.
Peter Grant, Jack Payne and substitute Joe Burgess all went close before Swanson curled home a free-kick from the edge of the area to make it 3-0.
The scoring was complete by Gordon who cut inside and drilled home a left-footed finish from 12-yards.
Posh: Day, Little (sub Richens), Brisley, Grant (sub Burgess), Knight-Percival, Payne (sub Brown), Swanson (sub Conlon), Ferdinand (sub Anderson), Mendez-Laing, Gordon, Sinclair.
