Jaanai Gordon kept up his good recent scoring run in the development team's 2-1 win over Leyton Orient.
Teenage front man Jaanai Gordon continued his recent goal-scoring run with the opening goal as the development team beat Leyton Orient 2-1 at the Nene Park Academy.
Gordon cut inside from the right and drilled a low left-footed effort into the far corner to give Gavin Strachan's men a first half lead in a game where they created numerous chances in front of goal.
Emile Sinclair struck a post and was twice denied by the Orient goalkeeper while Jevani Brown and Charlie Coulson also went close in the first period.
At the other end, the Posh woodwork was struck while Joe Day made a smart save to push over a long-range effort.
In the second period, Orient levelled during a lively spell, but a free-kick from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing was spectacularly headed past his own goalkeeper by an Orient trialist to give Posh the victory.
Day made a double save to preserve the lead, but Posh continued to create with Sinclair and Mendez-Laing going close.
Posh: Day, Knight-Percival (sub Marshall), Carter, Richens, Brisley, Mendez-Laing, Brown, Anderson, Coulson, Sinclair, Gordon.
